Kids are weaker today than ever before… but it’s not their fault. In an effort to protect them, we’ve swung the pendulum too far in the wrong direction.

First day of school = perfect time for rejection therapy! What a way to kick off the year 😂 Our students did an amazing job and many came back with success stories. Mindset work is an all-day every day thing around here!

Guess what? We pay our students to learn. It looks

Guess what? We pay our students to learn. It looks different for each student. We have multiple types of reward systems (1-1 lunches with a Guide, special privileges, special snacks, more recess, straight up cash even. Every level has an emporium, where students can trade in currency they earn for completing work for various things-even an easy bake oven or a Nintendo switch. The point is, students need motivation to learn in this tech driven, noisy, video game, social media driven world. Idealists will argue it cheapens the school experience and makes it transactional, but we’ve found the opposite. Once students realize that they can learn (“learning to learn” we call it) through external motivation-their internal motivation actually comes alive.
